This IS our next life!

Hello Family and Friends!  We have booked passage on the Queen Mary II from New York to Southampton England on August 22, 2011!  This will mark the beginning of a journey whose length and course remains unknown.  We are selling our home, our cars and most of our belongings.  We plan to purchase a motor home and travel the European continent until we have seen everything we care to see.  We are a father,a mother and a nine year old daughter.  Already gone is our oldest daughter, who this year made us grandparents to a wonderful baby boy!  Next up is our second oldest who will graduate from UT with plans to attend grad school at Stanford or U of Washington.  With these changes, our large 4 bedroom home seems excessive.  Our youngest asked to be home schooled this year.  We thought that was a good idea and would give us the opportunity for travel not possible with a child in a public school.  We didn't envision this kind of extended family travel initially but are excited by the possibilities and challenges it represents.

As of this writing, we have few definite details and MANY ideas, thoughts and topics for research. 

We plan to spend September and October leisurely making our way from England to Spain.  We are looking for a rental property in Southern Spain for the 2011-2012 winter season.  We hope family and friends will want to plan visits during this time and would like to find a villa or townhouse with one or more extra bedrooms!  In the Spring of 2012, we plan to resume our mobile discovery of Europe.  We are compiling a list of places, people and events that we would like to see.  Check back often or better yet, subscribe to our blog to see updates when they are posted.
